1. Minister of Interior and Local Government.
• Role: The political head of the ministry.
• Responsibilities:
o Provides overall leadership and vision.
o Represents the ministry in cabinet and government.
o Approves major policies, laws, and development strategies.
o Oversees intergovernmental relations and national coordination.
Role of the State Minister of Interior.
2. Support to the Minister.
• Acts as a key deputy to the Minister of Interior.
• Assists in overseeing major areas such as federal affairs, local governance,
• May represent the Minister in parliamentary sessions, intergovernmental forums, or public engagements.
3 Deputy Minister.
• Role: Supports the Minister, often handles specific portfolios.
• Responsibilities:
o Assists in implementation of policies.
o Represents the Minister in meetings.
o Oversees specific functions like local governance or IDPs.
4. Director General (DG)
• Role: Chief administrative and technical officer.
• Responsibilities:
o Manages day-to-day operations of the ministry.
o Coordinates departments and staff.
o Ensures implementation of programs and policies.
o Prepares reports, budgets, plans.
